Global robotaxi fleet projected to expand significantly by 2036

Berg Insight forecasts that the global robotaxi fleet will grow from approximately 6,500 vehicles at the end of 2025 to 1.53 million vehicles by 2036 as Level 4 autonomous driving platforms move from limited deployments toward larger commercial fleets. Passenger fare revenues are expected to increase from US$260 million in 2025 to US$158.7 billion in 2036, representing a compound annual growth rate of 79.2 percent. Services remain concentrated primarily in the United States, China, and the Middle East, with recent initial expansions into Europe, South Korea, and Singapore.
