Inflation Monitor

Headline CPI does not describe what a category manager actually pays. Choose the commodities in your spend, weight them the way your bill is weighted, and the monitor prices that basket against the consumer price index of the country you buy for. 309 commodities, 27 indirect categories, 50 CPI areas.

METHOD AND SOURCES

descriptionMethod: each commodity is set to 100 in the first month every item in the basket has a price for, and the index is the weighted mean of those rebased series with your weights held fixed. Rebasing means an absolute price level in the feed never reaches the index; only its rate of change does. Months with no quotation carry the last observed price forward rather than interpolating, and the page says when that happened.sourcePrices: the feed behind Claight PriceHub, quoted per location and sourcesourceCPI: OECD SDMX, DSD_PRICES, CPI all items, year-on-year, not seasonally adjustedsourceIndirect: US Bureau of Labor Statistics, PPI industry indices, not seasonally adjusted, United States onlyeventPrices to: 2026-09-16 · CPI to: 2026-08
