Zinc Ingot Price in China Rises 1.6% to USD 4,071/tonne

Zinc ingot in China was quoted at USD 4,071/tonne as of 2026-09-08, a rise of 1.6% from USD 4,009/tonne on 2026-09-01. The price is up 6.0% over the month from USD 3,841/tonne on 2026-08-07 and up 12.0% over the quarter from USD 3,635/tonne on 2026-06-10. The year-on-year increase stands at 31.2% from USD 3,104/tonne on 2025-09-08. The 52-week high of USD 4,071/tonne was set on 2026-09-08, and the 52-week low of USD 3,036/tonne was recorded on 2025-09-29.

On the supply side, Shanghai Metals Market reported that SMM China refined zinc production fell by around 18,000 mt, down 3.2% MoM in June 2026, due to routine and unexpected smelter maintenance.

Raw material availability has also tightened. Shanghai Metals Market reported that domestic refined zinc smelter raw material ore inventories fell to 18.16 days of supply in June 2026, the lowest level in nearly two years. Customs data showed China imported 362,800 gross tonnes of zinc concentrate in June 2026, an 8.51% decrease month-on-month.

On the demand side, the General Administration of Customs of China reported that galvanized steel sheet exports totaled 1.10 million metric tonnes in July 2026, up 2.63% month-on-month.
