Tin Price in China Slips 1.1% to USD 61,977/tonne
Chinese tin prices eased over the week and month, though the annual gain stands at 62.2%.
Tin in China was quoted at USD 61,977/tonne as of 2026-09-03, down 1.1% from USD 62,653/tonne on 2026-08-27. The month change stands at -2.4%, from USD 63,519/tonne on 2026-08-04, while the quarter change is -0.9%, from USD 62,565/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 62.2%, from USD 38,208/tonne on 2025-09-03. The 52-week high is USD 65,445/tonne, set on 2026-06-02, and the 52-week low is USD 37,828/tonne, recorded on 2025-09-08.
According to Mysteel, Yinman Mining received notices to suspend operations at its mining area and tailings system on 26 July, with the report dated 2026-08-06. Supply disruption of this kind affects domestic availability of the metal in China.
Mysteel also reported on 2026-08-31 that traders' tin ingot inventory in major Chinese markets rose to 9,836 tonnes as of 28 August, a development that reflects current stock levels held by traders.
Shanghai Metals Market reported on 2026-08-25 that the Myanmar Wa State mining ban and production restrictions continued throughout August. Myanmar is a source of tin ore supply for Chinese smelting operations, so the continuation of restrictions bears on the raw material position in the China market.
