Sulfuric acid in China slipped to USD 268.22/tonne, leaving the price up 155.4% year on year despite a 6.9% monthly decline.

Sulfuric acid prices in China stood at USD 268.22/tonne as of 2026-09-04, down 1.2% from USD 271.54/tonne a week earlier. The monthly decline stands at 6.9%, from USD 288.15/tonne on 2026-08-05, while the quarter change is 1.0% from USD 270.85/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 155.4% from USD 105.03/tonne on 2025-09-04.

Claight market monitoring shows that China suspended all ordinary industrial sulphuric acid exports effective May 1, 2026, to secure domestic supply. Mysteel reported a 99.16% month-on-month plunge in China's sulphuric acid exports during June 2026 following the implementation of export controls.

On the supply side, Shanghai Metals Market reported that smelting acid production units in Shandong and Henan concluded maintenance periods in July 2026, increasing domestic supply.

Over the past 52 weeks, the price reached a high of USD 328.06/tonne on 2026-06-17 and a low of USD 89.64/tonne on 2025-10-14.
