Styrene Price in China Rises 5.3% to USD 1,583/tonne
Chinese styrene prices climbed to USD 1,583/tonne on 2026-09-30 as supply cuts and higher feedstock costs supported the market.
Styrene prices in China stood at USD 1,583/tonne as of 2026-09-30, up 5.3% from USD 1,503/tonne on 2026-09-23. The monthly increase was 17.2% from USD 1,350/tonne on 2026-08-31, and the quarterly increase was 47.8% from USD 1,071/tonne on 2026-07-02. Year on year, the price rose 58.2% from USD 1,000/tonne on 2025-09-30. The 52-week high stands at USD 1,673/tonne on 2026-03-09 and the 52-week low at USD 925.29/tonne on 2025-11-13.
Claight market monitoring shows Shandong Lihuayi began a 40-day maintenance shutdown in late August, reducing domestic styrene output. Brent crude reached approximately 95 dollars per barrel on September 2, raising styrene feedstock costs.
According to 21cp.com, styrene futures broke through the 10,000 yuan/ton mark on September 10 due to rising raw material costs and tight supply.
OPIS reported that Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group shut its 260,000 mt/year styrene plant for maintenance on September 26, and that East China commercial styrene inventories fell to 31,400 mt by October 2 on export demand and production cuts.
