Styrene in China was priced at USD 1,478/tonne as of 2026-09-04, an increase of 9.9% from USD 1,345/tonne on 2026-08-28. Over the month the price rose 14.7% from USD 1,289/tonne on 2026-08-05, and the quarter change stands at 13.8% from USD 1,299/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the commodity is up 40.7% from USD 1,050/tonne on 2025-09-04. The 52-week high is USD 1,673/tonne on 2026-03-09 and the 52-week low is USD 925.29/tonne on 2025-11-13.
Claight market monitoring shows operating rates at Chinese styrene units fell to 63.55 percent by August 25 due to heavy maintenance. Shandong Lihuayi began a 40-day maintenance shutdown that reduced weekly styrene output.
Claight market monitoring also shows East China port inventories dropped to 55,300 tons on August 26 from 74,800 tons the previous week. Zibo Junchen's 500,000-ton styrene plant remained shut down following delayed restart schedules, according to ChemNet.
