The month-on-month change was an increase of 0.4% from USD 446.00/tonne on 2026-07-13, while the quarter-on-quarter comparison showed a decline of 0.7% from USD 451.00/tonne on 2026-05-25.

Cost-side pressure built during the month. Shanghai Metals Market reported that tighter safety inspections in Shanxi and raw coal production cuts boosted coke costs. Shanghai Metals Market also reported that blast furnace maintenance in August resulted in a net production reduction of 6.38 million mt.
