Soybean No. 1 Price in China Rises 6.9% to USD 783.50/tonne
Soybean No. 1 in China ended the week at USD 783.50/tonne, a 52-week high, with gains across week, month, quarter and year comparisons.
Soybean No. 1 in China was quoted at USD 783.50/tonne as of 2026-09-30, up 6.9% from USD 733.24/tonne on 2026-09-18. The price rose 6.6% over the month from USD 735.32/tonne on 2026-08-28 and 11.7% over the quarter from USD 701.72/tonne on 2026-07-02. The year-on-year increase stands at 42.0% from USD 551.58/tonne on 2025-09-30. The 2026-09-30 quote is the 52-week high, while the 52-week low of USD 551.58/tonne was set on 2025-09-30.
According to Mysteel, Chinese soybean inventories at 111 crushing plants reached 7.96 million tons in the week of September 25, the highest level in 15 years. Marex reported that Chinese private crushers booked only 50 soybean cargoes in the first three weeks of September, the lowest volume in four years.
Reuters reported that China excluded soybeans from the list of US agricultural products receiving tariff relief following the Washington summit. Reuters also reported that China's state-run companies purchased approximately 13.7 million metric tons of US soybeans following a trade deal in May. The latest quote of USD 783.50/tonne stands 42.0% above the 2025-09-30 level.
