Silver Micro prices in India slipped on the week but remain 78.1% higher than a year ago, as import licensing changes continue to shape supply.

Silver Micro in India was quoted at USD 2,492,925/tonne as of 2026-09-04, a weekly decline of 2.5% from USD 2,556,567/tonne on 2026-08-28. On the month the price is up 5.7% from USD 2,358,150/tonne on 2026-08-05, while the quarter shows a fall of 7.9% from USD 2,708,054/tonne on 2026-06-05.

The year-on-year change stands at +78.1%, from USD 1,399,733/tonne on 2025-09-04. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 4,133,952/tonne on 2026-01-29 and a low of USD 1,396,533/tonne on 2025-09-05.

Policy and supply developments have shaped the Indian market this year. On 2026-05-16 the Directorate General of Foreign Trade moved silver imports from free to restricted status to curb shipments and protect the rupee. The Economic Times reported on 2026-07-08 that Indian silver premiums had reached a six-month high of 10% over global benchmarks because of import shortages.

Imports have since begun to recover. According to the Free Press Journal on 2026-08-17, traders secured new licences for approximately 90 tonnes of metal, allowing Indian silver imports to resume.
