Rice Price in Brazil Rises 0.8% to USD 317.40/tonne

Rice in Brazil was quoted at USD 317.40/tonne on 2026-10-01, up 0.8% from USD 315.00/tonne a week earlier and up 3.9% from USD 305.40/tonne on 2026-09-01. The price has risen 53.8% over the quarter from USD 206.40/tonne on 2026-01-28 and 40.9% over the year from USD 225.20/tonne on 2025-10-01. The 52-week high stands at USD 321.20/tonne on 2026-09-21 and the 52-week low at USD 191.60/tonne on 2025-12-10.

Supply-side developments have accompanied the rise. According to Tridge Insights on 2026-09-14, producers in Rio Grande do Sul restricted supply and retained stocks to drive price recovery. Portal do Agronegócio reported on 2026-09-16 that Brazil exported 198,000 tons of rice in August, a 49% increase over July, reducing domestic supply.

The USDA reported on 2026-07-01 that the United States announced an additional 25% tariff on Brazilian rice exports in mid-July. On the policy side, Cultivar Magazine reported on 2026-08-31 that Conab acquired 310 tons of rice through the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy to reinforce public stocks.
