Brazilian rice has risen 49.3% on the week, month and quarter to USD 308.20/tonne, close to its 52-week high, as record exports and planting delays tighten supply.
Rice in Brazil stood at USD 308.20/tonne as of 2026-09-04, up 49.3% from USD 206.40/tonne on 2026-01-28. The week, month and quarter changes are all the same 49.3% move, since the price on 2026-01-28 serves as the reference point for each period. Over the year, the price is up 26.9% from USD 242.80/tonne on 2025-09-04.

Several developments bear on the market. Conab announced on 2026-07-31 the acquisition of 310,000 tons of rice for public stocks to mitigate El Niño impacts. According to AgriInsite, Brazil exported a record 1.1 million tons of rice in the first half of 2026, tightening domestic supply.
Tridge Insights reported on 2026-08-20 that El Niño-induced rainfall delayed rice planting in Rio Grande do Sul, threatening 2026/27 productivity.
