Rayon Yarn Price in China Edges Up 0.1% to USD 2,748/tonne
Rayon yarn in China moved to USD 2,748/tonne as viscose staple fiber costs climbed through August and exports strengthened.
Rayon yarn prices in China stood at USD 2,748/tonne as of 2026-10-02, a gain of 0.1% from USD 2,745/tonne on 2026-09-25. The price is up 1.5% over the month from USD 2,708/tonne on 2026-09-02 and up 4.0% over the quarter from USD 2,643/tonne on 2026-07-03. Year on year, the price has risen 13.6% from USD 2,419/tonne on 2025-10-02.
Over the past 52 weeks the market reached a high of USD 2,749/tonne on 2026-09-29 and a low of USD 2,418/tonne on 2025-10-10.
Upstream, CCFGroup reported on 2026-09-02 that major viscose staple fiber producers locked in bulk sales and lifted offers in mid-August 2026. According to Claight market monitoring, viscose staple fiber market prices rose from 14,200 to 14,400 RMB/ton during August 2026. Viscose staple fiber is the principal raw material for rayon yarn, so these movements feed into yarn production costs in China.
On the demand side, CCFGroup reported on 2026-09-24 that China rayon yarn exports increased 22% month-on-month in August 2026. Together with the firming cost base, this supported the price gains recorded across the month, quarter and year to 2026-10-02.
