Rapeseed Oil Price in China Edges Down to USD 1,516/tonne
Rapeseed oil in China slipped 1.4% on the week but remains 11.2% higher than a year ago, with Mysteel data pointing to tight stocks and low crushing rates.
Rapeseed oil in China was quoted at USD 1,516/tonne as of 2026-09-04, down 1.4% from USD 1,537/tonne a week earlier. The monthly movement is positive at +1.5%, from USD 1,493/tonne on 2026-08-05, and the quarterly movement is +2.7%, from USD 1,477/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year the price is up 11.2%, from USD 1,364/tonne on 2025-09-04. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity has traded between USD 1,242/tonne on 2025-12-19 and USD 1,561/tonne on 2026-08-21.
Domestic rapeseed oil crushing plants operated at an average capacity of 29.29% during the 33rd week of 2026, according to Mysteel. Mysteel also reported that national rapeseed oil stocks reached 512,000 tonnes as of August 14, 2026, down 42.11% year-on-year.
Claight market monitoring shows that state reserve rapeseed oil rotation and replenishment requirements reduced available commercial spot market supplies throughout August 2026. On the futures side, Mysteel reported that the ZCE OI2609 rapeseed oil futures contract price surpassed 10,700 RMB/tonne on August 13, 2026.
