R22 Price in China Steady at USD 3,473/tonne
China R22 prices held week on week, though the annual decline remains steep amid tighter 2026 production quotas.
R22 prices in China stood at USD 3,473/tonne as of 2026-09-03, unchanged from USD 3,472/tonne a week earlier. The month-on-month change was +0.5%, from USD 3,455/tonne on 2026-08-04. Over the quarter the price is up 4.4%, from USD 3,326/tonne on 2026-06-05.
The year-on-year picture is very different: the price is down 31.4% from USD 5,061/tonne on 2025-09-03. The 52-week high of USD 5,091/tonne was set on 2025-09-17, and the 52-week low of USD 2,175/tonne on 2025-11-05.
Supply-side factors have shaped the market over the past year. Claight market monitoring shows that annual 2026 R22 production quotas were reduced to 146,100 tons, a 2.02% decrease from 2025. Claight market monitoring also reported that some production facilities operated at reduced capacity due to raw material shortages and environmental maintenance.
Demand conditions added to price pressure earlier in the year. According to ChemNet, weekly average market prices for R22 increased by over 2,000 yuan per ton due to peak season maintenance demand. The latest quotation leaves the weekly price flat while the longer-run gap against a year ago remains wide.
