Propylene in China was quoted at USD 1,448/tonne as of 2026-10-01, up 2.9% from USD 1,407/tonne on 2026-09-24. Over the month the price has risen 5.5% from USD 1,373/tonne on 2026-09-01, and over the quarter it is up 27.6% from USD 1,135/tonne on 2026-07-03. Year on year, the price is 57.5% higher than USD 919.05/tonne on 2025-10-01.
The 52-week high stands at USD 1,498/tonne, recorded on 2026-09-11, and the 52-week low at USD 816.68/tonne, recorded on 2025-12-30.
According to ChemNet, leading PDH producers reduced external spot sales to prioritize internal downstream use, tightening market supply despite unit restarts. ChemPriceHub reported that Shandong propylene output fell 2.96% between September 14 and 21 due to maintenance at Zhenhua Petroleum and Hengtong Chemical. ChemNet also noted that military strikes in the Middle East disrupted Strait of Hormuz shipping, causing crude oil and feedstock costs to surge.
Claight market monitoring shows downstream sectors engaged in pre-holiday restocking, providing a price floor and supporting market stability through late September.
