Potassium nitrate in China was priced at USD 695.54/tonne as of 2026-09-29, down 0.3% from USD 697.75/tonne on 2026-09-22. The month-on-month change stands at -2.9%, against USD 716.05/tonne on 2026-08-28, while the quarter-on-quarter change is -9.1%, compared with USD 765.32/tonne on 2026-07-01. Year on year, the price is up 6.8% from USD 651.22/tonne on 2025-09-29.
Within the past 52 weeks, the high of USD 785.57/tonne was recorded on 2026-06-02 and the low of USD 612.03/tonne on 2025-10-27.
Two sourced developments relate to the China market. According to Yongchang, China suspended agricultural-grade potassium nitrate exports from March 14, 2026, until August 31, 2026, to prioritize domestic supply. Evangetic reported that potassium nitrate prices in China experienced a sharper correction in the second half of August 2026 due to adequate potash availability and selective demand.
The week-on-week change of -0.3% follows the August correction reported by Evangetic. The export suspension described by Yongchang ended on August 31, 2026, which falls within the current quarter-to-date period covered by the -9.1% quarter-on-quarter comparison.
