Polysilicon in China was priced at USD 5,966/tonne as of 2026-09-30, up 0.0% on the week from USD 5,964/tonne on 2026-09-23. The monthly move was 25.3%, from USD 4,762/tonne on 2026-08-31, and the price is 20.4% higher over the quarter, from USD 4,954/tonne on 2026-07-02. Year on year, the price is down 18.3% from USD 7,304/tonne on 2025-09-30.
The 52-week high stands at USD 7,796/tonne, set on 2026-02-26, and the 52-week low at USD 4,644/tonne, set on 2026-08-07.
Supply-side developments have shaped the month. Ten leading Chinese polysilicon producers agreed on September 11 to cap utilisation at 35% of capacity starting in October to address oversupply, according to SaurEnergy on 2026-09-25. National energy consumption standards issued in June and enforced next year are driving the rationalisation of outdated polysilicon capacity, Shanghai Metals Market reported on 2026-09-17.
Shanghai Metals Market reported on 2026-09-30 that polysilicon production is expected to decline in October due to the onset of the dry season and industry-wide production cut agreements.
