Polymethyl methacrylate in China was quoted at USD 2,128/tonne as of 2026-09-29, a week change of -0.0% from USD 2,129/tonne on 2026-09-22. The monthly change was -0.2% from USD 2,133/tonne on 2026-08-28, and the quarterly change was -4.7% from USD 2,232/tonne on 2026-07-01. The price sits close to the 52-week low of USD 2,125/tonne recorded on 2026-08-11, well below the 52-week high of USD 2,339/tonne set on 2026-05-25. The year change stands at -1.8% from USD 2,167/tonne on 2025-09-29.
Supply developments have clustered around methyl methacrylate capacity in the region. Chongqing Yixiang Chemical declared force majeure on its MMA plant due to feedstock shortages on 2026-09-29, according to SupplyStatus. Chongqing is a domestic Chinese producer, so the declaration affects supply within the market being tracked.
Chinese maintenance activity has also shaped recent months. Zibo Qixiang Tengda Chemical conducted plant maintenance on 2026-08-01, according to SupplyStatus. Zhejiang Petrochemical took its Zhoushan MMA unit offline for maintenance on 2026-08-20 and restarted the unit on 2026-09-15, according to SupplyStatus, meaning domestic MMA capacity was restored before the latest price fixing.
