Polyester prices in China stood at USD 1,435/tonne as of 2026-10-01, unchanged from USD 1,435/tonne on 2026-09-24. The price is up 10.0% from USD 1,304/tonne on 2026-09-01, up 17.9% from USD 1,217/tonne on 2026-07-03 and up 45.9% from USD 983.67/tonne on 2025-10-01. The 52-week high is USD 1,582/tonne on 2026-09-25 and the 52-week low is USD 948.22/tonne on 2025-10-21.

The quarter's rise reflects supply disruptions. According to CCFGroup, the Middle East conflict caused crude oil and feedstock price spikes, triggering widespread production cuts of nearly 7 million tons of PET bottle chip capacity. ChinaTexnet.com reported that dual blockades of the Strait of Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb Strait reduced MEG imports, driving inventories to multi-year lows and forcing polyester plant output reductions.
