Claight market monitoring shows that plant maintenance disruptions in mid-August 2026 tightened domestic spot supplies and pushed market offers upward. The same monitoring recorded that bisphenol A units entered a maintenance cycle in August 2026, providing sustained cost support for polycarbonate prices.
Earlier in the period, domestic polycarbonate polymerization plants resumed production in July 2026, raising operating rates above 84%, according to Claight market monitoring. The monitoring also found that international crude oil price surges in July 2026 drove up upstream acetone and phenol costs, supporting polycarbonate prices.
