Polycarbonate Price in China Falls 1.5% to USD 2,195/tonne
Polycarbonate in China slipped 1.5% on the week to USD 2,195/tonne as factories cut ex-factory prices, though the quarter-to-date gain stands at 17.0%.
Polycarbonate in China was quoted at USD 2,195/tonne as of 2026-09-30, down 1.5% from USD 2,229/tonne a week earlier. On the month the price is up 1.4% from USD 2,165/tonne on 2026-08-31, and over the quarter it has risen 17.0% from USD 1,876/tonne on 2026-07-02. Year on year the price is 8.0% higher than the USD 2,032/tonne recorded on 2025-09-30.
The 52-week high stands at USD 2,456/tonne on 2026-03-11, and the 52-week low at USD 1,844/tonne on 2026-02-04.
ChemPriceHub reported on 2026-09-30 that domestic polycarbonate factories lowered ex-factory prices by 300 to 600 RMB/ton in late September amid quiet market conditions, which aligns with the weekly decline in the quoted price.
Earlier support came from two factors. Claight market monitoring shows domestic polycarbonate polymerization plant operating rates remained low at approximately 75% in early September, providing support for prices. Claight market monitoring also recorded that international crude oil price surges in early September drove up costs for the raw materials phenol and acetone, strengthening price support. Separately, maintenance at several production facilities in mid-August caused a temporary contraction in circulating supply, pushing market offers upward, according to Claight market monitoring dated 2026-08-24.
