Polyamide FDY in China has risen 8.2% over the past month as upstream caprolactam supply tightened and costs increased.
Polyamide FDY prices in China stood at USD 2,737/tonne as of 2026-10-02, up 0.1% from USD 2,733/tonne on 2026-09-25. The price has risen 8.2% over the month from USD 2,529/tonne on 2026-09-02, 13.9% over the quarter from USD 2,404/tonne on 2026-07-03, and 34.4% over the year from USD 2,037/tonne on 2025-10-02. The 52-week high is USD 2,901/tonne on 2026-03-10 and the 52-week low is USD 1,989/tonne on 2025-11-05.
Claight market monitoring shows caprolactam prices rose in early September due to plant maintenance and tightened supply, driving up PA6 chip and filament costs. Lunan Chemical shut down its caprolactam production unit for approximately 50 days starting September 5, according to ChemPriceHub.
Upstream cost pressure also increased after Sinopec raised its listed pure benzene price by 300 RMB/ton to 10,200 RMB/ton, as reported by ChemPriceHub on 2026-09-30. The same source reported that Yangmei Taihua Phase II and Luxi Phase III caprolactam units restarted by late September, increasing spot availability.
