Phthalic anhydride in China was quoted at USD 1,411/tonne as of 2026-09-03, a weekly rise of 0.9% from USD 1,399/tonne on 2026-08-27. The price is up 3.4% over the month from USD 1,365/tonne on 2026-08-04 and up 10.5% over the quarter from USD 1,277/tonne on 2026-06-05.
The year-on-year increase stands at 60.5%, from USD 879.33/tonne on 2025-09-03. The 52-week high is USD 1,430/tonne, recorded on 2026-03-10, and the 52-week low is USD 786.32/tonne, recorded on 2025-12-22.
According to Claight market monitoring, the closure of the Strait of Hormuz drove up crude oil and ortho-xylene costs by mid-July. Claight market monitoring also shows that Sinopec raised its listed ortho-xylene price by 400 RMB/ton between July 10 and July 20.
