Pet coke in China was quoted at USD 491.36/tonne as of 2026-09-03, down 0.8% from USD 495.25/tonne on 2026-08-27. The month-on-month move was -3.4% from USD 508.73/tonne on 2026-08-04, while the quarter change stood at +5.0% from USD 467.95/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 44.0% from USD 341.12/tonne on 2025-09-03. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 548.23/tonne on 2026-03-23 and a low of USD 328.35/tonne on 2025-11-28.
Several supply and demand developments frame the market. According to Shanghai Metals Market, July 2026 imports totaled 1.4729 million mt, up 5.02% YoY due to increased low-sulfur demand. OilChem reported that port inventories reached 3.672 million tonnes in early August, down 696,500 tonnes YoY, and that rising sea freight costs and global spot competition hindered new import bookings in Q3.
On the supply side, Mysteel reported that Russia-Ukraine conflicts idled over 40% of Russian refining capacity, restricting supply. Gate News reported that China National Petroleum Corporation raised domestic coke prices effective September 1.
