Nitrile Rubber Price in China Rises 3.2% to USD 2,679/tonne

Nitrile rubber in China climbed to USD 2,679/tonne as butadiene costs rose and domestic supply tightened.

Nitrile rubber prices in China stood at USD 2,679/tonne as of 2026-09-03, up 3.2% from USD 2,597/tonne on 2026-08-27. The monthly change was 9.0%, from USD 2,458/tonne on 2026-08-04. Over the quarter the price has moved 0.8% higher, from USD 2,657/tonne on 2026-06-05, and the year-on-year change stands at 15.0%, from USD 2,330/tonne on 2025-09-03. The 52-week high is USD 3,445/tonne on 2026-04-08 and the 52-week low is USD 2,174/tonne on 2025-11-27.

According to Claight market monitoring, butadiene prices rose 19.80% in August 2026 due to cracker unit maintenance and higher crude oil costs, feeding into upstream pressure on the nitrile rubber chain.

Claight market monitoring also shows that Lanzhou Petrochemical began annual NBR unit maintenance in July 2026, lowering domestic operating rates to 68%. Separately, Claight market monitoring records that China imported 580,000 tons of natural and synthetic rubber in July 2026, an 8.5% year-on-year decline.

On the supply side, Mysteel reported that Lanhua Xiangxin Industry & Trade started a new 2,000 tonnes/year specialty NBR unit on August 18, 2026, adding to domestic capacity.
