The price fell 1.1% over the month from USD 115,704/tonne on 2026-08-31 and is down 3.8% over the quarter from USD 118,942/tonne on 2026-07-02. Year-on-year, the price is 26.4% higher than the USD 90,595/tonne recorded on 2025-09-30. The 52-week high stands at USD 141,055/tonne on 2026-02-26 and the 52-week low at USD 81,082/tonne on 2025-10-24.
According to Shanghai Metals Market, China's PrNd oxide output rose 10% in August, driven primarily by scrap recyclers increasing operating rates after maintenance. The same source reported that China's imports of unlisted rare earth oxides fell 11% month-on-month in August due to slow domestic demand and the rainy season.
Shanghai Metals Market also noted that major producer purchases drove PrNd oxide prices higher in late September, alongside sentiment surrounding the China-US summit. Export control measures for rare earths were suspended until November 10, 2026, following a de-escalation arrangement between China and the US, according to Shanghai Metals Market on 2026-09-24.
