Neodymium Oxide Price in China Falls 1.3% to USD 114,971/tonne

Neodymium oxide in China eased over the week and month, though it remains 24.0% above its level a year earlier.

Neodymium oxide in China was quoted at USD 114,971/tonne as of 2026-09-03, down 1.3% from USD 116,438/tonne on 2026-08-27. The monthly change was -3.2%, from USD 118,827/tonne on 2026-08-04, while the quarter change stood at -0.3%, from USD 115,288/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 24.0%, from USD 92,714/tonne on 2025-09-03.

Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 141,055/tonne on 2026-02-26 and a low of USD 81,082/tonne on 2025-10-24.

According to Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), production cuts at raw ore separation and scrap recycling enterprises tightened spot availability in July, as reported on 2026-07-31. SMM also reported on 2026-08-28 that the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued consolidated second-half 2026 light rare earth mining quotas.

On 2026-09-01, SMM reported that scrap recyclers increased August PrNd oxide output by 15.35% month-on-month to capture profits from rising market prices. SMM further reported on 2026-09-04 that upstream suppliers raised PrNd oxide quotes in early September, tightening availability of low-priced market cargoes.
