Indian natural gas sits at USD 0.85/mwh, up 8.3% on the month but down 13.4% on the quarter.

Natural gas in India was quoted at USD 0.85/mwh as of 2026-09-04, a weekly change of -0.2% from USD 0.85/mwh on 2026-08-28. The month-on-month change stands at +8.3%, from USD 0.79/mwh on 2026-08-05, while the quarter change is -13.4%, from USD 0.99/mwh on 2026-06-05. Compared with USD 0.90/mwh on 2025-09-04, the year change is -5.0%.

Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 2.03/mwh on 2026-01-28 and a low of USD 0.74/mwh on 2026-04-27.

According to The Economic Times, Indian energy companies paid over $23 per MMBTU for spot LNG cargoes for September delivery, the highest price seen since 2022. The Economic Times also reported on 2026-08-13 that Qatar declared force majeure on LNG exports after damage to production facilities, affecting 56 of its cargoes.

BusinessToday reported on 2026-09-01 that Indraprastha Gas Ltd increased CNG prices in Delhi by ₹3.89 per kg, citing surging international gas benchmarks. The same source reported that Mahanagar Gas Ltd hiked CNG prices in Mumbai by ₹2 per kg and domestic piped gas by ₹1 per SCM.
