According to Claight market monitoring, rising international crude oil prices increased feedstock naphtha costs throughout August 2026, establishing a higher price floor for xylene. Claight market monitoring also shows that domestic xylene supply remained tight in August 2026 due to limited commercial stock from integrated refineries and restricted import arrivals.
OPIS reports that xylene exports dropped 79.9% month on month in July 2026, as domestic producers prioritized internal captive consumption over export markets. OPIS also notes that heavy plant maintenance in July 2026 reduced domestic xylene availability, constraining supply and supporting price increases.
