Maize Price in China Edges Up 0.1% to USD 328.99/tonne

Maize in China was quoted at USD 328.99/tonne as of 2026-10-02, an increase of 0.1% from USD 328.77/tonne on 2026-09-25. On a monthly basis the price is down 1.4% from USD 333.68/tonne on 2026-09-02.

Supply pressure has increased since new-season corn harvesting began in the North China Plain in September, according to Mysteel on 2026-09-23. Claight market monitoring shows that China imported 320,000 tonnes of corn and corn flour in August, a 784% year-on-year increase.

Earlier policy moves also affected availability. On 2026-06-05, USDA FAS reported that authorities resumed sales of imported corn with a 155,000 MT auction. In a separate report dated 2026-05-01, USDA FAS noted that sprouting and mold damage in newly harvested wheat since May improved its price competitiveness against corn in feed rations.

The 52-week high stands at USD 334.41/tonne, set on 2026-08-25. The 52-week low of USD 328.70/tonne was recorded on 2026-09-28, four days before the latest quote. The price as of 2026-10-02 is USD 0.29/tonne above that low and USD 5.42/tonne below the 52-week high, leaving the recent trading range narrow compared with the wider 52-week spread of USD 5.71/tonne.
