LPG Price in China Rises 2.3% to USD 1,178/tonne
LPG in China reached USD 1,178/tonne on 2026-09-30, up 84.3% year on year, as shipping disruptions curbed import arrivals.
LPG in China was priced at USD 1,178/tonne as of 2026-09-30, a weekly rise of 2.3% from USD 1,152/tonne on 2026-09-23. The month change was +22.5% from USD 961.72/tonne on 2026-08-31, and the quarter change was +53.8% from USD 765.94/tonne on 2026-07-02. Over the year, the price is up 84.3% from USD 639.43/tonne on 2025-09-30.
The 52-week high stands at USD 1,179/tonne, reached on 2026-09-29, and the 52-week low at USD 610.02/tonne on 2025-10-21.
According to Mysteel, Strait of Hormuz shipping disruptions have curbed China's LPG import arrivals and reduced port inventories. Mysteel also reports that China's August LPG imports fell 15.64% month-on-month to 2.80 million tonnes.
On the supply side, Saudi Aramco announced a propane supply suspension for Asian term customers in H1 2027, as reported by Mysteel. Allway Chemical reports that September Saudi Contract Prices increased to USD 625/tonne for propane and USD 660/tonne for butane. Allway Chemical also states that downstream butane deep-processing units in Shandong recovered to over 80% operating capacity.
