Low Sulfur Fuel Oil Price in China Rises 3.3% to USD 732.69/tonne
Refinery production costs and tight blending feedstock supplies have pushed Chinese low sulfur fuel oil prices higher across the week, month and quarter.
Low sulfur fuel oil in China was priced at USD 732.69/tonne as of 2026-09-04, a weekly rise of 3.3% from USD 708.99/tonne on 2026-08-28. The price is up 10.8% over the month from USD 661.49/tonne on 2026-08-05 and up 4.3% over the quarter from USD 702.52/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price has risen 53.3% from USD 477.82/tonne on 2025-09-04.
Within the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 774.09/tonne on 2026-05-18 and a low of USD 409.09/tonne on 2026-01-07.
Claight market monitoring shows that tight supplies of blending feedstocks drove China domestic 180CST fuel oil prices to an average of 6,412.50 RMB/ton by August 30. Claight market monitoring also shows that ex-terminal quotes for low-sulfur 180cst fuel oil in Shanghai rose 200 RMB/tonne on September 2 due to tight regional supply and demand.
Gate News reports that refinery production costs and spot resource tightening increased marine low-sulfur 180CST fuel oil prices in southern China by 125 yuan/ton as of September 1.
