Liquefied Petroleum Gas Price in China Rises 2.0% to USD 1,001/tonne
Chinese LPG prices climbed to USD 1,001/tonne on 2026-09-30, extending gains over the week, month, quarter and year.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas in China was priced at USD 1,001/tonne as of 2026-09-30, up 2.0% from USD 981.84/tonne on 2026-09-18. Over the month the price rose 16.8% from USD 856.88/tonne on 2026-08-28, and over the quarter it rose 51.5% from USD 660.77/tonne on 2026-07-02. On a year-on-year basis the price is up 68.2% from USD 595.12/tonne on 2025-09-30.
The 52-week high stands at USD 1,028/tonne, reached on 2026-09-11. The 52-week low is USD 557.34/tonne, recorded on 2025-10-13.
Several developments coincide with the rise. Mysteel reported on 2026-09-17 that Strait of Hormuz shipping disruptions have curbed China's LPG import arrivals and reduced port inventories. Mysteel also reported on 2026-09-22 that China's August LPG imports fell 15.64% month-on-month to 2.80 million tonnes.
Allway Chemical reported on 2026-09-08 that September Saudi Contract Prices increased by $5/tonne for propane and $20/tonne for butane. Claight market monitoring shows the Dalian Commodity Exchange main LPG contract surged 13.40% on September 4.
