Linear low-density polyethylene in China is quoted at USD 1,401/tonne as of 2026-10-01, a weekly rise of 2.3% from USD 1,369/tonne on 2026-09-24 and a monthly rise of 6.0% from USD 1,322/tonne on 2026-09-01. The price has gained 30.1% over the quarter, from USD 1,076/tonne on 2026-07-03, and 37.7% year on year from USD 1,017/tonne on 2025-10-01.
Claight market monitoring shows that Middle East geopolitical conflicts drove up crude oil and ethylene costs, providing strong price support.
On the supply side, ChemAnalyst reported on 2026-09-18 that CNOOC and Shell Petrochemicals abruptly halted production at its Huizhou complex, tightening regional supply. The same source reported that BASF declared force majeure at its Zhanjiang site from September 9 to 20 due to feedstock shortages.
ChemNet reported on 2026-09-02 that Zhejiang and Yulong Petrochemical delayed plant restarts, restricting 900,000 tons of annual production capacity. The current quote sits below the 52-week high of USD 1,424/tonne set on 2026-09-14 and well above the 52-week low of USD 908.84/tonne recorded on 2025-12-26.
