Formic acid prices in China rose 4.8% week on week to USD 327.43/tonne as of 2026-09-03, up from USD 312.49/tonne on 2026-08-27. The monthly gain stands at 22.8%, compared with USD 266.53/tonne on 2026-08-04. Over the quarter the price is down 11.4% from USD 369.51/tonne on 2026-06-05, and the year-on-year change is a decline of 29.2% from USD 462.29/tonne on 2025-09-03.
According to Claight market monitoring, concentrated plant maintenance in mid-August tightened market availability, supporting a price recovery. Claight market monitoring also shows that robust export orders in August effectively absorbed domestic capacity, pushing up spot market quotes.
The latest quote of USD 327.43/tonne sits closer to the 52-week low of USD 266.53/tonne, recorded on 2026-08-04, than to the 52-week high of USD 462.60/tonne, recorded on 2025-09-04. The low of USD 266.53/tonne marks the same level from which the 22.8% monthly rise is measured.
