Ethanol Price in China Rises 0.6% to USD 836.17/tonne

Ethanol in China was quoted at USD 836.17/tonne as of 2026-10-01, a rise of 0.6% from USD 830.86/tonne on 2026-09-24. The price is up 2.3% over the month from USD 817.27/tonne on 2026-09-01 and 0.6% over the quarter from USD 831.19/tonne on 2026-07-03. On the year it is 7.1% higher than the USD 781.02/tonne recorded on 2025-10-01. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 866.45/tonne on 2026-04-14 and a low of USD 736.47/tonne on 2025-11-05.

Supply-side data points to tightening conditions. ChemPriceHub reported that ethanol production facilities with 3.91 million tons of annual capacity were offline during September. The same source said weekly capacity utilisation in the ethanol market rose to 50.55% by late September, an increase of 4.23% from the prior period.

Inventories have also fallen. 卓创资讯 reported that China's ethanol production enterprises held a total inventory of 84,000 tons at the end of September, down 48,200 tons from August. According to Claight market monitoring, ethanol production in August reached 835,000 tons, an increase of 28,700 tons compared with the previous month.
