Epichlorohydrin Price in China Rises 2.7% to USD 1,712/tonne
Epichlorohydrin in China gained on the week even as monthly and recent production trends pointed to softer conditions.
Epichlorohydrin in China was priced at USD 1,712/tonne on 2026-09-03, up 2.7% from USD 1,667/tonne on 2026-08-27. Over the month the price fell 2.0% from USD 1,747/tonne on 2026-08-04, while the quarter change stands at +11.3% from USD 1,537/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year the price is up 5.4% from USD 1,623/tonne on 2025-09-03.
Over the past 52 weeks the price ranged between a high of USD 2,068/tonne on 2026-03-11 and a low of USD 1,533/tonne on 2026-06-23.
Cost pressure came from upstream glycerine. SCI99 reported on 2026-08-18 that glycerine prices rose 5.78% in July, increasing production costs for the majority of China's glycerine-based ECH capacity. According to Claight market monitoring, multiple ECH production units including Guangxi Jinze and Hebei Jinbang remained offline in mid-July, tightening spot supply.
Supply has since rebuilt. Mysteel reported on 2026-08-04 that China's ECH output increased 16.08% in July as maintenance losses decreased by 20.06% compared to June. Mysteel further reported on 2026-09-01 that industry output rose 7.66% in August to 125.1 kilotonnes, though glycerin-based units remained deeply loss-making.
