Dimethyl carbonate in China slipped to USD 899.89/tonne on 2026-09-30, ending a monthly rise, as supply recovered and downstream demand eased.
Dimethyl carbonate in China was quoted at USD 899.89/tonne as of 2026-09-30, down 9.7% from USD 996.41/tonne on 2026-09-23. The pullback followed a run-up in which the price gained 22.2% over the month from USD 736.64/tonne on 2026-08-31, 62.2% over the quarter from USD 554.82/tonne on 2026-07-02, and 66.4% over the year from USD 540.76/tonne on 2025-09-30. The 52-week high stands at USD 1,008/tonne on 2026-09-18 and the 52-week low at USD 533.17/tonne on 2025-11-05.
On the supply side, Claight market monitoring shows that Shandong Depu New Materials' 200,000-tonne/year DMC project reached full capacity in mid-September, increasing spot supply. ChemPriceHub reports that Shandong Weiersi and Deppu Phase III units operated unstably during the National Day holiday, reducing spot supply.
Demand also softened. Claight market monitoring shows that downstream electrolyte and polycarbonate producers reduced operating rates in mid-September due to high costs and weak demand. ChemPriceHub reports that domestic PC output fell 6.67% month-on-month in September, reducing bulk demand for DMC. On the cost side, ChemPriceHub reports that propylene oxide prices in Shandong dropped by 400-600 yuan/ton on September 23, removing cost support for DMC.
