Cryolite Price in China Steady at USD 1,224/tonne
Chinese cryolite prices were unchanged on the week but have risen 1.1% over the month amid tighter fluorite supply.
Cryolite in China was quoted at USD 1,224/tonne as of 2026-09-03, unchanged from USD 1,224/tonne on 2026-08-27. The price is up 1.1% from USD 1,210/tonne on 2026-08-04 and up 2.6% from USD 1,194/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year it is down 0.3% from USD 1,228/tonne on 2025-09-03.
Supply conditions in the fluorite chain have tightened. According to Claight market monitoring, Inner Mongolia intensified mine safety inspections, causing declines in fluorite operating rates, and domestic fluorite prices rose 5.10% in August owing to supply tightness and mine production suspensions. Claight market monitoring also shows that Mongolian fluorite mines halted production for maintenance starting in mid-July.
Downstream, Shanghai Metals Market reported on 2026-09-03 that benchmark aluminum fluoride tender prices increased by 300-500 yuan/mt in September.
Over the past 52 weeks, cryolite in China reached a high of USD 1,260/tonne on 2025-12-03 and a low of USD 1,168/tonne on 2026-03-27.
