Claight market monitoring shows that rising domestic and international cotton prices have strengthened cost-side support for yarn, prompting producers to tentatively raise quotes despite sluggish demand. Claight market monitoring also reports that state reserve cotton auctions consistently cleared at rising prices throughout August, increasing raw material costs for spinning mills.

Imported cotton yarn costs rose as overseas mills hiked quotations on the back of high raw material prices, forcing domestic traders to accept higher procurement costs, according to Claight market monitoring. Separately, Yangxi reported that textile enterprises maintained roughly 80 percent operating rates while reducing finished goods inventory to approximately 30 days by late August.
