Cotton lint in China was quoted at USD 2,596/tonne as of 2026-09-30, a weekly move of -0.1% from USD 2,600/tonne on 2026-09-23. Over the month the price fell 5.3% from USD 2,741/tonne on 2026-08-31, and the quarter change stands at -0.9% from USD 2,619/tonne on 2026-07-02.
Year on year the price is up 24.2% from USD 2,091/tonne on 2025-09-30. The 52-week high of USD 2,741/tonne was set on 2026-09-02, while the 52-week low of USD 2,060/tonne was recorded on 2025-10-16.
Supply-side developments point to tighter conditions. According to the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service, policy shifts in Xinjiang led to a smaller planted area and lower production forecasts for the 2026/27 season. CCFGroup reported that cotton linter imports fell by over 60 percent year-on-year from January to July 2026, creating a supply gap.
