Corn Starch Price in China Slips 0.3% to USD 428.63/tonne

Corn starch prices in China continued to ease as new-season corn arrivals and rising plant operating rates weakened cost support.

Corn starch in China was priced at USD 428.63/tonne as of 2026-09-03, a weekly decline of 0.3% from USD 429.74/tonne on 2026-08-27. The price is down 1.1% over the month from USD 433.25/tonne on 2026-08-04 and 2.3% over the quarter from USD 438.69/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is 6.8% higher than the USD 401.36/tonne recorded on 2025-09-03.

The 52-week high stands at USD 441.79/tonne, reached on 2026-07-03, while the 52-week low is USD 392.02/tonne, recorded on 2025-11-05.

According to CncC (ZhuoChuang), new-season corn began arriving at processing plants in North China, causing companies to lower acquisition prices and weaken starch cost support. The same source reported that the domestic corn starch industry operating load rose to 60.16% as plants in Shandong and Shaanxi resumed production.

Mysteel reported that domestic starch sugar production rebounded as previously idled plants resumed operations, increasing weekly corn starch consumption. Mysteel also surveys weekly corn inventory held by deep processing enterprises to monitor raw material availability. Claight market monitoring shows that China's July corn and corn flour imports increased by 527.3% year-on-year, increasing domestic supply and pressuring prices.
