Copra Price in India Falls 2.3% to USD 1,716/tonne

Copra in India is quoted at USD 1,716/tonne as of 2026-08-29, a weekly fall of 2.3% from USD 1,756/tonne on 2026-08-22. The month-on-month change stands at +2.3%, up from USD 1,678/tonne on 2026-07-25, and the price has risen 16.9% over the quarter from USD 1,468/tonne on 2026-05-30.

The year-on-year position is a fall of 33.6% from USD 2,583/tonne on 2025-08-16. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 2,514/tonne on 2025-10-25 and a low of USD 1,375/tonne on 2026-06-27.

Mandipulse reported on 2026-08-14 that low arrivals, increased buyer activity and weather-related disruptions caused a 40.73% copra price surge, with a further 22.87% surge attributed to the same factors on 2026-08-24. On 2026-08-26 the same source reported that higher arrivals and reduced buyer demand caused a 24.36% copra price decline, consistent with the weekly fall. A further 23.09% surge driven by low arrivals, increased buyer activity and weather-related disruptions was reported by Mandipulse on 2026-09-05.

The market has therefore moved between reported surges and declines through August, with the latest weekly quotation showing a decline against a quarterly rise.
