Color Coated Sheet Price in China Rises 0.1% to USD 984.40/tonne
Chinese colour coated sheet prices edged up over the week as production costs and mill pricing policies supported the market.
The price of colour coated sheet in China stood at USD 984.40/tonne as of 2026-10-02, up 0.1% from USD 983.13/tonne on 2026-09-25. The price is up 1.0% over the month from USD 974.48/tonne on 2026-09-02 and 2.7% over the quarter from USD 958.50/tonne on 2026-07-03. Year on year, the price has risen 7.0% from USD 920.00/tonne on 2025-10-02.
Over the past 52 weeks the commodity reached a high of USD 985.75/tonne on 2026-09-21 and a low of USD 898.41/tonne on 2025-12-08.
Claight market monitoring shows that steel mills implemented firm ex-factory pricing policies throughout September to maintain margins against rising production costs. China Steel Raw Materials reports that coke plants completed five consecutive rounds of price hikes by mid-September, increasing composite production costs for steel mills.
World Ports Organization data indicate that China Iron and Steel Association member mills reduced daily pig iron and crude steel output by 1.4% and 0.1% respectively during September 11-20, while finished steel inventories at CISA-monitored mills rose 5.1% from the end of August to 17.08 million metric tons by September 20.
