Cold rolled sheet in China was quoted at USD 565.29/tonne as of 2026-09-30, down 0.2% from USD 566.54/tonne on 2026-09-23. The monthly change stands at +0.5% from USD 562.52/tonne on 2026-08-31, and the quarter change is +1.9% from USD 554.94/tonne on 2026-07-02. Year on year, the price is up 0.6% from USD 562.18/tonne on 2025-09-30.
Over the past 52 weeks the price reached a high of USD 575.03/tonne on 2026-05-22 and a low of USD 540.31/tonne on 2026-03-09.
According to Shanghai Metals Market, multiple rounds of coke price hikes in September increased steel production costs and provided a floor for cold rolled sheet prices. Mysteel reported that automotive production and sales data for August showed a year-on-year decline, weakening peak season demand expectations.
SteelRadar reported that national social inventories of cold rolled coil increased by 33,100 mt in September as downstream demand recovery fell short of expectations. Lange Steel noted that steel mill profitability dropped below 10 percent in September, leading to increased maintenance and production halts.
