Cold rolled coil prices in China stood at USD 497.00/tonne as of 2026-08-24, up 0.6% from USD 494.00/tonne on 2026-08-10. The month-on-month comparison shows a decline of 0.2% from USD 498.00/tonne on 2026-07-13, and the quarter-on-quarter comparison shows a decline of 1.8% from USD 506.00/tonne on 2026-05-25. Year on year, the price is up 5.7% from USD 470.00/tonne on 2025-08-11. The 52-week high is USD 507.00/tonne on 2026-05-11 and the 52-week low is USD 473.00/tonne on 2025-08-25.

Shanghai Metals Market reported that Shanxi Coking Coal held a meeting in early August emphasising mine safety, which tightened supply and increased costs for steel mills. According to Claight market monitoring, steel mills implemented three successive rounds of metallurgical coke price increases throughout August, significantly raising production costs.

Shanghai Metals Market also reported that total planned production volume of cold-rolled commercial material from 31 mainstream steel mills declined 2.5% in August.

On trade measures, Promisteel reported that Japan imposed provisional anti-dumping duties of 29.2% to 55.3% on specific Chinese galvanised steel products starting August 8, and that Indonesia completed an anti-dumping action against hot-rolled coil produced by Wuhan Iron and Steel with a 17.5% measure.
