Caprolactam Price in China Falls 0.2% to USD 2,104/tonne
Weekly dip in caprolactam follows a monthly rise of 7.0% and a quarterly rise of 26.0%, with plant maintenance and benzene costs in play.
Caprolactam in China was priced at USD 2,104/tonne as of 2026-09-30, a weekly change of -0.2% from USD 2,109/tonne on 2026-09-23. On a monthly basis the price is up 7.0% from USD 1,968/tonne on 2026-08-31, and over the quarter it has gained 26.0% from USD 1,670/tonne on 2026-07-02. The year change stands at +73.0% from USD 1,216/tonne on 2025-09-30.
Supply-side developments have shaped the quarter. Shenma Chemical increased its operating rate from 30% to 80% in early August 2026, according to CCFGroup. In late August 2026, Lu'an Chemical shut down its 200kt/year capacity unit for maintenance, CCFGroup reported.
Further support came from the cost side and additional lost output. Sinopec raised its pure benzene listed price to 9,900 yuan/ton by late September 2026, according to ChemPriceHub. ChemPriceHub also reported that Lunan Chemical began a 50-day maintenance shutdown on September 5, 2026.
Over the past 52 weeks the price reached a high of USD 2,180/tonne on 2026-09-16 and a low of USD 1,168/tonne on 2025-11-05.
