Calcium carbide prices in China rose 3.1% week on week to USD 410.17/tonne as of 2026-10-02, from USD 397.72/tonne on 2026-09-25. The price is up 8.1% on the month from USD 379.38/tonne on 2026-09-02 and up 15.4% on the quarter from USD 355.38/tonne on 2026-07-03. Year on year, the price is 12.0% higher than the USD 366.32/tonne recorded on 2025-10-02. The current level matches the 52-week high of USD 410.17/tonne set on 2026-09-30, against a 52-week low of USD 339.83/tonne on 2026-04-28.
Claight market monitoring shows that calcium carbide plants in Inner Mongolia implemented voluntary peak-shaving production in July and August due to power shortages and high electricity costs. Multiple plants in Northwest China curtailed output in early August, tightening spot market circulation and supporting a price rebound.
