Calcium Carbide Price in China Rises 2.0% to USD 379.52/tonne
China calcium carbide moved up to USD 379.52/tonne on 2026-09-03, extending gains across the week, month, quarter and year.
Calcium carbide in China was quoted at USD 379.52/tonne as of 2026-09-03, up 2.0% from USD 372.01/tonne on 2026-08-27. The monthly change stands at 6.8%, from USD 355.37/tonne on 2026-08-04. Over the quarter the price has risen 4.8%, from USD 362.12/tonne on 2026-06-05, and on a yearly basis it is up 12.5%, from USD 337.27/tonne on 2025-09-03.
The 52-week high is USD 404.53/tonne, recorded on 2026-04-07. The 52-week low of USD 337.27/tonne was set on 2025-09-03, which is also the base for the yearly comparison.
On the supply side, Mysteel reported on 2026-07-06 that power restrictions and grid-limited supply in Inner Mongolia caused calcium carbide plant output cuts and production shifts in July 2026. The report attributed reduced plant output in the region to these restrictions.
Prices have moved higher in each of the four measured periods. The current quote of USD 379.52/tonne remains below the 52-week high of USD 404.53/tonne set in April 2026.
