Bronze Price in Germany Edges Down 0.8% to USD 19,804/tonne

Bronze on the German market slipped over the week but remains 43.2% higher than a year ago.

Bronze in Germany was quoted at USD 19,804/tonne as of 2026-09-03, down 0.8% from USD 19,971/tonne a week earlier. Over the month the price is up 0.5% from USD 19,714/tonne on 2026-08-04, and over the quarter it has gained 3.5% from USD 19,136/tonne on 2026-06-05.

The year-on-year movement is larger: the price stood at USD 13,832/tonne on 2025-09-03, so the current level is 43.2% higher. Over the past 52 weeks the commodity traded between a low of USD 13,740/tonne on 2025-09-09 and a high of USD 20,427/tonne on 2026-08-17.

Two developments within Germany may bear on near-term conditions. According to Shanghai Metals Market, Thyssenkrupp Steel Europe took the Schwelgern 2 blast furnace offline on 30 August 2026 for a six-week refurbishment. Separately, trans.info reported that German port workers at six major locations conducted a 48-hour warning strike beginning 2 September 2026, affecting cargo handling at the ports during the period.

The latest weekly decline leaves the German quote 3.1% below the 52-week high set on 2026-08-17, while the price remains well above the levels recorded at the start of the quarter.
