Bromine Price in China Rises 4.1% to USD 6,042/tonne

Bromine prices in China rose 4.1% week on week to USD 6,042/tonne as of 2026-09-29, up from USD 5,806/tonne on 2026-09-22. Over the month, the price gained 7.7%, moving from USD 5,609/tonne on 2026-08-28. Over the quarter, the increase was 52.6%, from USD 3,959/tonne on 2026-07-01, and the year change stands at 54.2%, from USD 3,918/tonne on 2025-09-29.

According to Claight market monitoring, frequent rainfall in July reduced seawater bromine production in Shandong, Hebei and Tianjin by 20% month on month. Claight market monitoring also shows that Shandong Haihua raised ex-factory prices at its bromine plant to 39,000-40,000 RMB/tonne. Delays in the arrival of imported bromine at the end of July tightened domestic spot supplies.

Claight market monitoring records that bromine production in China fell from 135,500 tonnes in 2014 to 63,500 tonnes in 2025 due to brine resource depletion. The price sits below its 52-week high of USD 10,237/tonne, reached on 2026-04-07, and above its 52-week low of USD 3,908/tonne, recorded on 2025-10-14.
