The asphalt price in China rose to USD 789.02/tonne as of 2026-09-04, an increase of 11.5% from USD 707.87/tonne on 2026-08-28. The price is at the top of its 52-week range, which runs from a low of USD 416.18/tonne on 2025-12-09.
The weekly move extends a broader rise. Over the month, the price climbed 23.6% from USD 638.15/tonne on 2026-08-05. Over the quarter, it rose 19.8% from USD 658.47/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 53.7% from USD 513.49/tonne on 2025-09-04.
Supply conditions in China have tightened. According to Longzhong Information, social asphalt inventories in China declined by 55.4% year-on-year by early September. The same source reported that regional supply tightened following the mid-August production halts at specific refineries including Henan Fengli and Shandong Shengxing.
The combination of lower inventories and reduced refinery output has coincided with the price reaching its 52-week high of USD 789.02/tonne on 2026-09-04.
