Antimony Price in China Rises 16.1% to USD 15,255/tonne
Hunan mine halts, falling ore imports and export controls have coincided with a monthly gain of 16.1% in the Chinese antimony price.
Antimony in China was quoted at USD 15,255/tonne on 2026-09-03, up 1.0% from USD 15,103/tonne on 2026-08-27 and up 16.1% from USD 13,141/tonne on 2026-08-04. The commodity remains 28.8% lower than the USD 21,432/tonne recorded on 2026-06-05 and 40.8% lower than the USD 25,750/tonne quoted on 2025-09-03. The 52-week high stands at USD 25,807/tonne on 2025-09-08 and the 52-week low at USD 13,069/tonne on 2026-08-03.
According to Shanghai Metals Market (SMM), production halts and rectification at major Hunan antimony mines commenced on 2026-08-28, impacting local supply for at least one month.
Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) also reported that China's July antimony ore imports dropped 49.5% month-on-month, tightening domestic raw material availability. China's August antimony ingot production fell approximately 9% month-on-month, reflecting the decline in July ore imports, per Shanghai Metals Market (SMM).
