The monthly comparison shows a decline of 4.5% from USD 1,782/tonne on 2026-08-04, while the quarter change is an increase of 15.9% from USD 1,468/tonne on 2026-06-05. Year on year, the price is up 51.7% from USD 1,122/tonne on 2025-09-03.

Supply-side developments have been reported across the Chinese market in recent weeks. ChemNet reported on 2026-07-30 that Lihuayi and Jieyang acrylonitrile units shut down for unexpected equipment maintenance, and on 2026-08-18 that Zhejiang Petrochemical reduced acrylonitrile unit operating rates to 70% due to equipment failure. ChinaTexnet.com reported on 2026-08-19 that Sailboat Petrochemical and Tianchen units entered planned maintenance cycles in July and early August, and that Typhoon Bavi caused transportation congestion and cargo pickup delays in Nantong.
